Vichitra Veena

The Vichitra Veena is one of the oldest and rarest instruments in Indian Classical Music, played traditionally in Dhrupad and Hindustani classical styles. Known for its deep, meditative, and highly resonant tonal quality, this handcrafted instrument is ideal for professional musicians, recording artists, and serious collectors.

Each Vichitra Veena is meticulously crafted using well-seasoned Tun (Tunna Cedar) wood, paired with two natural pumpkins of equal size, ensuring powerful acoustic resonance and long sustain. The total body length is approx. 49 inches, with a 4.7-inch wide fret board, allowing smooth gliding technique played with a stone or glass gaz (slide).

The instrument is artistically decorated with celluloid inlay work and features a beautifully carved peacock design on the headstock and front — a symbol of elegance and tradition in classical music craftsmanship.
